As Mississippi celebrates its bicentennial as a state, this program will look at the tricentennial of French history in Natchez and on the Yazoo River. This slide/lecture program is presented by AFJ members Gail Buzhardt and Max Garriott and will look at the success and failure for the French forts Rosalie and Fort St. Pierre, the great beginning and friendship between the French colonists and the two Indian nations (Natchez and Yazoo), and finally, the relationship spiraled into violent tragedy for both sides.
